Fred's Hydrangea...
Several months ago I posted a wip (work-in-progress) of this painting. I have completed it and would appreciate your thoughts. The subtle colors presented a challenge since the basic color was a very pale pink with touches of darker pinks and blues in places. Yellow-green centers completed the palette.
This work is in oils and prints and cards from this painting can be purchased through:

It looks so delicate and elegant!
ReplyDeleteI like the subtle combination of colours. The green of the leaves helps reveal the delicacy and beauty of the heart-shaped Hydrangea.
Coni, this is absolutely magnificent. Stunningly beautiful. Perfect. Love the "heart" shape. Makes this have a deeper thoughtful meaning than just "a beautiful flower picture".
ReplyDeleteThanks! to both of you. It was one of those paintings where I worried over adding color that wasn't really there in order to create more interest. My brother and sister-in-law have a wonderful way with flowers and I appreciate the opportunity to paint from their successes. Great hearing from you both!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful work. I really like the quality and great color.
ReplyDeleteL.D., Thank you so very much for your kind remark. I so enjoy hearing others opinions of my work so that I might gauge whether I have hit the spot or not.
ReplyDeleteConi...I have often thought of painting hydrangeas, but both of my efforts ended up in the round file...way too complicated and fussy. However, I love your take on them and see them as being just right. Like Ruth said, the heart shape makes it more deeply sentimental.
