Candied Apple or Art?
I belong to a wonderful watercolor group, Watercolor Workshop hosted by Susie Short. Each month we are challenged to paint from the same source. This month's challenge is to paint a candied apple. The reflections in the apple were quite challenging. I very much enjoyed this little painting and thought I would share it with you.
I have fond memories of candied apples from my childhood. My Mother made them with Kraft caramels and they were always dipped in walnuts...this little guy appears to have a clear coating of perhaps a candied glaze and no extras. I did consider that it might be nice to darken the base around the apple, but for now I will wait and see what you think. Our weather, while still no snow, has turned very cold again. Not sure what's happening to our climate. Everyone is talking about the abnormal weather patterns this year. Global warming may be further along than we think.
