Another Year, A Wonderful Experience...

My husband and I just returned from a very enjoyable, albeit short, trip to San Antonio, Texas. Neither of us had ever visited the Alamo so this was our year. I must admit that even with the many thousands of visitors who were sharing the same experience, I encountered feelings I hadn't expected as I viewed the 175 year old relics. It seemed the souls of the brave men who gave their lives in their fight for the freedoms we Americans now take for granted. Men like Davey Crocket, Jim Bowie, Colonel Travis and so many more.

Glad you've enjoyed the trip.
I'm very impressed with the two pictures taken at Alamo, especially the second one - the Memorial to the Alamo defenders.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
