Hemingway once said, 'There is nothing to writing, all you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.'

After the push to complete and prepare my manuscript for submission to the SYTYCW competition I did not make the final cut.  A few hours of devastation and an email from SYTYCW stating that those of us not chosen should not give up yet since the editors will be contacting authors, whose work they are interested in but who did not make the final cut, once the competition is completed.  They also suggested that we submit through the regular channels.  Ever the optimist, I took a deep breath and am back at the computer, writing!  Thanks to all who supported me through the torture and who voted for me.  Standby, 'Crossroads' will see the light of day in print, I promise.

In the meantime, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  My daughter-in-law, Kari, carved this pumpkin a few years back.

  1. I like your attitude. Best of Luck with your writing!

As for the pumpkin picture, I never cease to be impressed by the ideas and forms of pumpkin carving. Kari's carving is amazing.
    Happy Halloween!
