The Oscars...

While watching the Oscars, I realized there are individuals who exude dignity without even trying.  Sidney Poitier is one of those people.  All these years since I first saw him on the 'big screen,' I was still impressed with the quiet power of this individual.  I thought this year's award show was one of the best ever.  I appreciate each and every one of the entertainers who provide so much enjoyment for us.  In a time when reality t.v. has taken over our weeknight viewing, replacing talented shows with the inane babble of people pretending to be something they aren't for the sake of ratings, I am thankful that we can still pay our money to buy a ticket to view the handful of true artists who make the films that win the Oscars each year.  It is to these folks that I say 'Thank you one and all!'

  1. The annual Oscar ceremony celebrates the best of the movie crop: best picture, best actor/actress, best director, etc...
