Ketchikan, AK

Alaska is a land of many variables.  From the flat, swampy lands at the foot of Mt. McKinley the great mountain rises to a height of 20,322'.  There are flatlands, mile wide rivers, snow capped mountains and beauty beyond compare.  Most everywhere you go is by plane or boat, a bit challenging but simply a way of life.  I took this photo a couple of years ago at a park outside of Ketchikan, AK.  These foxglove stood taller than I am and were glorious to behold.  It looks like I will be returning to Ketchikan again this summer and I am looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting a few new ones.  I will always be looking for the beauty in the world, it's sometimes harder to find but always worth the search.
